Dear Visitor,

Thank you for stopping by.

"What I Really Think Today" aspires to be a thoughtful, intelligent, well- researched, analytic, and pointed commentary on politics and society, focusing on paths forward for Democrats, liberals, progressives, leftists, and moderate Republicans.

I aim to create a forum where we do more listening, thinking, and fixing what's broken than weeping and wailing about the 2024 election.

My first series of Substack commentaries is on this hot topic:

Ten Ways Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, and Leftists
Handed The 2024 Election to Donald Trump

And How To Fix Those Mistakes And Win in 2026 and 2028

If you don't think the Democratic-Liberal-Progressive side seriously erred in at least 10 ways, then you need to join the discussion.  We did. And we can do better.

Or if you're ever asked, "Why do MAGAs vote against their own interests?" then please subscribe. That is one of the key question we'll discuss.

All commentaries will be on Substack, not here.

I intend it to work this way: I post a commentary and seek comments. Then, maybe together, we come up with answers.

Everyone is welcome to subscribe and participate, but the key phrase is "thoughtful, intelligent, well-researched, analytic, and pointed." All civilized, intelligent, and potentially useful points of view are welcome (Yes, conservative voices, too).

As for this website, it is currently just this page with the link above to my Substack home page.

Please Subscribe to My Substack Forum:
It's Just $5* a Month

*$5 is the minimum monthly subscription Substack allows writers to charge you (other than free, and I can’t afford free).

I hope you will subscribe because:
    (1) I have much to say on issues we need to discuss, and
    (2) My perspective is different: liberal/progressive thinking, seasoned with the experience of age. I see society and politics in ways that most of you either don’t see or don’t care to acknowledge -- ways that Trump and his minions cynically exploit.

So please subscribe and support this job I’ve created for myself: that of telling you what Democrats need to do, both politically and in the act of governing, to win the next two elections – and more important, earn the job of governing.
